AI and Assessment: Making it work for all

Guests juined leading education expert Daisy Christodoulou for a focused and thought-provoking training day exploring the realities of AI in assessment and what schools must do to respond effectively. This course was structured around three linked sessions that move from understanding to challenges to solutions.

The day began with The Big Picture: what AI can and cannot do, providing a clear, accessible overview of AI and large language models, their strengths and limitations, and the current good and bad uses of AI in education.

The second session, AI and Assessment: the challenges, examined the profound implications AI has for current assessment practices, with a focus on extended written assessments.

The final session, AI and Assessment: the solutions, focused on practical responses.

Throughout the day, participants gained a realistic, evidence-informed understanding of how AI can be used thoughtfully and responsibly in schools, without undermining learning, assessment or professional judgement.
